We started this month by honoring Nathan Johnson for his service on the county board. Nathan recently resigned from the board because he moved.
The following appointments were approved by the board.
Jacquelyn Anderson and Tonya Therkelsen to the Families Come First/Comprehensive Community Services Coordinating Committee.
Art Shrader, Robert Sitton, Tammy Lenerz and Matthew Ison to the Veteran’s Service Commission.
The board voted 25-0 to amend the 2026 budget to appropriate $90,259 to an intergovernmental agreement between Sauk County and The Ho-Chunk Nation.
The board voted 25-0 to amend The Human Services 2026 Budget and award a contract to Pathways to a Better Life for sober living residence. The amount was $300,000 drawn from $1.9 million of opioid settlement funds that are currently available.
The board voted 25-0 to amend to repeal and recreate Chapter 9 Sauk County Floodplain Zoning ordinance to include an approved dam failure analysis for the Sensnovis Dam in the Town of Woodland. This will keep us in good standing with the National Flood Insurance Program, a FEMA-administered federal program that provides flood insurance to property owners, renters, and businesses.
The board voted 25-0 to amend the 2026 budget for additional allocation of grant funds for installation and training related to Next Generation 9-1-1. The county has to cover 10% of the grant which will be $7,059.70 coming from the general fund balance.
As always, any opinions expressed here are my opinions and do not represent the Sauk County Board.
