In August, the Board voted to adopt the Invest Sauk: Driving Innovation, Building A Resilient Economy, and Empowering Business Growth plan. It is economic development.
A resolution was introduced called ‘Supporting Compliance With The Refugee Act of 1980, Requesting and Recommending an Immediate Pause on Refugee Resettlement Under the Refugee Act of 1980 Within The State of Wisconsin’. After a Vigorous debate we voted to postpone indefinitely.
The Board changed the Land Resources and Environment Committee to the Land Resources and Extension Committee.
The Board supported the renaming of the unnamed Narrows Creek Tributary as “Aahuco Niisanakra” (Blue Wing Creek). This perennial stream flows on the land formally owned by Aahucoga (Blue Wing), a Ho-Chunk chief.
The Board approved the 2025-2029 Sauk County Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.
